If your 2020 health and wellness goals have been washed down by the pandemic of COVID19, don’t worry. You’re not alone. Thanks to the stay at home and work from home orders in the last couple of months, a healthy diet and workout routine has been missing.

I have been wanting to get serious about getting back to eating healthy, shed the extra quarantine weight and increasing my energy, so I jumped at the chance to receive an advance copy of “Always Eat After 7 PM” by Joel Marion. Over the next month, I’ll be sharing my experience of the book and diet (and hopefully some great results!)

First impressions

So, the Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good.

So this means there’s still a hope for Summer 2020 body goals 😉

I’m in!

Right away, Joel Marion begins addressing my first doubt – I thought eating late was against all the rules?!  In this book I could see the author providing studies and his own experience of battling weight. After doing tons of research, Joel decided to put his theory to the test and the results were awesome! 12 lbs down in the first 2 weeks, 46 lbs after 16 weeks, flatter abs, and more energy. But what really struck a chord with me was this:

“Those who ate breakfast ended up eating about 260 calories more a day, the review found. Those who skipped breakfast were about one pound lighter than those who ate breakfast. These findings led the researchers to conclude that eating breakfast isn’t necessarily a good strategy for losing weight. The science isn’t really there. Breakfast could very well be the least important meal of the day.”

Based on surprising science, Always Eat After 7 PM debunks popular diet myths and offers an easy-to-follow diet that accelerates fat-burning and allows you to indulge in your most intense food cravings: Eating the majority of your calories at night.

“Research shows that the average person’s metabolic rate is no different during sleep than during the day. In short, your metabolism doesn’t slow down at night. Nor does your body store fat at the end of the day. Whether it’s 8 am or 8 pm, you use food for energy the same way.”

I am really looking to change my mindset with cooking and eating as I read through this book. As a working professional, more times than often I look for easy, healthy recipes and meal prep ideas. After doing my research on different diets and eating habits I decided to try the method in “Always Eat After 7 PM” book.

I chose to follow this three-phase plan for:

  • Health reasons
  • Lose weight
  • Boost Metabolism

I’m excited to dive in and I’ll post an update next week, so stay tuned!
